Mission & Objectives

Established in 1987, the Office of Grants and Special Programs is committed to strengthening education in biology and related sciences. Other important objectives are to advance public understanding and appreciation of science and to broaden access to science for all persons, including women and members of groups underrepresented in the sciences.

HHMI's grants program provides funding for pre-K–12 and undergraduate science education, graduate science education and medical student research training, and international research and education.

HHMI's grants and fellowships are administered by the Office of Grants and Special Programs.
